WORKOUT FOR MIND AND BODY
Chris Psarsky works as a Child Care Counselor for KidsPeace. He generally works out at WRC about four to five times a week to maintain the top physical and mental shape necessary to handle the demands of his job.
Chris, an avid reader, was concerned about the adequate quantity and selection of books available to the kids who range in age from 4-18 years old. One 15-year-old girl told Chris that she has read the same book ten times and asked Chris if there was any way he could get her more books.
Chris immediately jumped on the idea of a book drive at WRC and TFC. He solicited the kids to help create a colorful book box which is kept at the Front Desk. So far, Chris has tallied over 100 books from both Clubs. Chris says that this has certainly proven to be a productive and educational means of taking the kids’ minds off their current frustrations and family issues

THE AMAZING CHADI
Chadi Chehade joined 24-7 Fitness Clubs in September of ’07. At that time he weighed in at 236. Since then, he has dropped to 186, and packed on 10 pounds of muscle. Hey, 50 pounds in 7 months!! Not too shabby. Now factor in that he weighed in at 340 when he started his quest. Wow! Chadi has tried many other fitness clubs, but prefers 24-7 Fitness because of the variety it offers. He believes in changing his routine frequently; which, he said, is easy to do here because we offer such a variety of equipment. All we can say is AMAZING

While increasing flexibility and sharpening stability, coordination, and posture. Come, let us help relax your body and soul.

HYDRO POWER: Add a little challenge, with this high-intensity, deep-water workout. This invigorating deep end water class uses buoyancy and floatation equipment to assist you in getting a great cardiovascular workout. You do not need to know how to swim to be in this class. It offers a non impact workout for those who have muscle and joint conditions and can be beneficial for cross training athletes. Check it out!

AQUA KICKBOXING: Increase muscle strength, endurance, and balance in this dynamic class. It is geared to active people willing to push themselves for maximum results. Beginner classes will focus on cardiovascular workouts with basic defense and offensive boxing moves. NUTRITION NEWS
Do you have high blood pressure or are you at risk for developing high blood pressure? Research has shown that following a healthy eating plan can both reduce your risk of developing high blood pressure and lower an already elevated blood pressure. The DASH study (standing for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) showed that a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy, and low in saturated fat, total fat and cholesterol will reduce elevated blood pressure. The DASH eating plan also includes whole grains, poultry, fish, and nuts and has reduced amounts of fats, red meats, sweets, and sugared beverages. A second study, called "DASH-Sodium" showed that reducing sodium intake lowered blood pressure for both the DASH eating plan and the typical American diet, with the biggest blood pressure lowering benefits for those following the DASH eating plan at the lowest sodium level (1,500 mg sodium per day). Here are some tips to incorporate DASH principles into your diet:

1. Add a serving of vegetables at lunch or dinner. Add a serving of fruit at one meal, or choose fruit for a snack.

2. Increase your intake of fat-free or low-fat dairy products to 3 servings per day.

3. Try brown rice, whole wheat pasta or whole wheat bread in place of white-refined grains at meals.

4. Choose lean meats and limit your intake of meats to 6oz per day.

5. Try a serving of nuts (unsalted), such as almonds or walnuts, for a snack 1-2 times per week.
